Got work?
I almost do … I can feel it! I’m not quite ready for it, really. And haven’t been drumming it up at all. I’ve been too … busy.
This week and last have been all about moving. I moved my stuff into storage last week and helped my friend Joel move to Pullman last week/end. This week I’ve been moving more stuff into storage, downsizing a bit and doing a little work here and there around the house.
I have been cultivating some freelance work too, but I’m finding that things don’t move as quickly as I’m used to. Which is kinda nice. The pace of life has nicely slowed way down and I am really enjoying it. I could care less, really, if I had any work coming at all. But, I know to do what I want to do in November, I gotta do some work to have the money I’ll need to get where I want to go.
My desk is done, which is one thing I did this week. I finished the drawers and slid them into place! I also built a shelf for my storage unit to reclaim some vertical space above two heavy, non-square objects. It was amazing what a difference it made. So, I feel like I’ve been productive.
I am still looking at options on places to live though. Ideally I could go through the next three months and not pay any rent. Just couch-surf and house-sit and maybe do some camping. Visit some friends and relatives or something. The only thing is it looks like I’ll be doing a lot of working from home, so I kinda need a semi-stable work environment to get anything done. The living situation isn’t bothering me though. I know something will work out.
