I still don’t know why the area is called “Wallingford.” Maybe I never will.
I’m living at my friend Kevin’s house. It’s in the general area of 43rd Street and Thackeray Place. It’s a pretty nice little house. Two bedrooms, two bath, and a cool dog named Willie.

Willie never barks and he sleeps a LOT. But he has got some wicked stinky ass-farts. Whoo weee. Watch out for those. He’s a good dog though. I wish I could take a video of when he’s excited to go for a walk or just wanting attention. Greyhounds are such lanky dogs they just look goofy!
So anyway. The house is right on the 26 busline too, which goes right downtown. The bus stop is 20 seconds from the front door. It’s awesome! I think I’ll be here until I leave for FL.
James and I are formulating more and more plans for Europe. Right now we’re leaving on Dec. 16 from Orlando and flying to London. We’re gonna buy some amazingly cheap airfares primarily on EasyJet. We’re talking about flying from London to Rome, Rome to Basel (closest airport to Bern, Switzerland), Basel to Amsterdam, and lastly Amsterdam to London. Amsterdam on new years might be a target. Not sure yet. It all sounds amazing! Most of the flights we’ve looked at are like $40-$50 US, and they are all one-way flights. So flexible!
I think I’ve decided that I am going to take a road trip from Washington to Florida.
Here’s the info so far:

- 3400 miles – 6-10 days (depending on sightseeing/visiting)
- Gmaps pedometer: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=448800
- Visit friends in Price, Utah? My friend Bret from Microtest lives there with his family.
- Arches National Park on the way from Price to Anna’s in Colorado Springs? My route takes me directly by it, I can’t see not stopping at least for a peek!
- Drive through Colorado Springs, meet Mom, see Anna’s baby?
- Visit relatives in Indiana?
- 1/2 the trip might be with Mom. We could cover more distance at a time?
Making things interesting is there are two babies in the family that will be delivered at the end of Oct. beginning of November. My sister Lynn and step-sister Anna are due on practically the same day.
I think … I think I’m committed it. I’ve been wanting to take a huge road trip for a while. The expense is kinda silly, as it would be way cheaper and quicker to take a plane ride. But, I just … I just want to minimize flying. The slow way is more my style right now.
And, when I come back to Seattle some time next year, I’ll be able to swing through Phoenix, or hang out at Ryan’s Dad’s place in Alamogordo, or Pam’s vacation place in Vallecito Lake near Durango? Drive up the coast of California and possibly visit the several friends and co-workers that live in and around Los Angeles.
And, I need to store my truck some how while I’m traveling and I don’t really have any resources for that in Seattle, without paying for something.
I think it will be ultimately more flexible, and there’s a price for that kind of flexibility. It will be good times.
It’s where I’m stayin. At my friend Sena’s house. Yet another stop on the journey. They have a nice place in the woods here. I like it! Very quiet. Two well behaved dogs. Lucy and Sasha.

It’s Sammamish, actually.
I’ll be here all week!
