Life is going well! I am so, so glad to be out on my own. I’ve got some work coming in and I’m going after some more. Things seem to be looking like they’ll be pretty steady for the next few months. I’ve got places to live lined up. I’ve got an address … I’ve even met an interesting woman …

Switzerland is looking like my first destination. I only recently realized exactly how central it is to all of Europe. I kept thinking of Sweden, further north. (though I’d like to visit there too.) Now I’m starting to think about solidifying plans, like how long I want to stay in Europe, where I’ll stay, etc. I should probably talk to a travel agent soon as I need to figure out whether I want to do an open ticket, and buy airfare from place to place as needed, or set some dates and buy a round trip. I’m not really sure how to come to that decision just yet. I’ve decided that I really want to try and stay with locals as much as possible. Maybe do the hostel route when needed and a decent hotel here and there. I filled out my application for the Hospitality Club and signed up at to see what I can find there.

I stayed at a friends place on Queen Anne last week. Next week I’ll be out in Issaquah. Then I think I’ll be back in Seattle until some time in November.

Getting some backpacking in while the weather is still decent would be cool. I haven’t been in soooo long. I guess it depends on the work that I have coming in. Sometimes I think it will require me to be in town during normal business/working hours.

And, today I went wakeboarding with Kevin. It was awesome! I haven’t been in at least two years and I’m already a bit sore, but it was great. they have an excellent location right on Lake Stevens.

Now I’m ready for a lazy labor day …
