Seattle to Central Florida Road trip

I think I’ve decided that I am going to take a road trip from Washington to Florida.

Here’s the info so far:

• 3400 miles – 6-10 days (depending on sightseeing/visiting)

• Visit friends in Price, Utah? My friend Bret from Microtest lives there with his family.
• Arches National Park on the way from Price to Anna’s in Colorado Springs? My route takes me directly by it, I can’t see not stopping at least for a peek!
• Drive through Colorado Springs, meet Mom, see Anna’s baby?
• Visit relatives in Indiana?
• 1/2 the trip might be with Mom. We could cover more distance at a time?

Making things interesting is there are two babies in the family that will be delivered at the end of Oct. beginning of November. My sister Lynn and step-sister Anna are due on practically the same day.

I think … I think I’m committed it. I’ve been wanting to take a huge road trip for a while. The expense is kinda silly, as it would be way cheaper and quicker to take a plane ride. But, I just … I just want to minimize flying. The slow way is more my style right now.

And, when I come back to Seattle some time next year, I’ll be able to swing through Phoenix, or hang out at Ryan’s Dad’s place in Alamogordo, or Pam’s vacation place in Vallecito Lake near Durango? Drive up the coast of California and possibly visit the several friends and co-workers that live in and around Los Angeles.

And, I need to store my truck some how while I’m traveling and I don’t really have any resources for that in Seattle, without paying for something.

I think it will be ultimately more flexible, and there’s a price for that kind of flexibility. It will be good times.
