Yes, it is true. I am leaving the absolutely, stunningly beautiful coast of Portugal to go to the southern end of Africa. Cape Town. My flight to South Africa is Saturday afternoon … from Manchester, UK. I am currently no where near Manchester. No coastline anywhere near Manchester looks like this:

It’s not because I don’t like Portugal. I just got here! It’s just there’s stuff to see in the summer in Africa, and I’ll come back to Europe when it’s warmer! The possibility of going to South Africa is what got me motivated to travel in the first place. The commute back and forth to FNET with Nazma, talking about traveling and meeting and crashing at her place in South Africa. I wasn’t sure I was going to do it until two hours ago. I called Nazma to make sure it was ok (an expensive call, indeed) and now I’m going.
It will be like no other trip I’ve taken. I have never traveled for two days straight with little sleep. I will truly be a mess when I arrive. And, it will be great!
