enough political BS

Politics is maddening. Especially at this time of this year.

However, one more thing before I stop -

The Associated Press: Clinton highlights Obama’s objection to gas tax holiday

This further cements my dislike of Billary for the presidency. Siding with Republicans isn’t so bad if they have a good idea. Siding with them to try and boost your fledging candidacy is just low. She’s just a cog in the Republican spin-machine anymore: “My opponent, Senator Obama, opposes giving consumers a break,” Clinton said, campaigning in North Carolina. “I understand the American people need some relief.” F@#$ you, Hillary, Obama’s on your side, dipshit. Saying he opposes something as ridiculous as that is definitely something Bush would say. I’d heard she was pulling from the Republican bag of tricks, but I didn’t want to believe it.

I still think the suspending the gas tax is bad, and I fully agree with Obama’s rational:

Obama said the tax suspension will make little difference, will encourage oil consumption and imports, could be canceled out by subsequent oil-price increases, and will only save the average consumer about $30 total over the summer.

It is a no-brainer to me. Suspending the gas tax IS NOT going to help the middle class (who the candidates are should be trying to lure the most) and will do nothing but make the sting any easier to take when the tax is lifted barely three months later and prices escalate even higher. This summer suspending of the gas-tax is completely a western approach to the situation. Obama is looking at the whole picture. Hopefully people will realize that he’s the smarter for doing so.

I do like Hillary’s idea for making up the 9-billion dollar shortfall by imposing a “windfall profits tax” on the oil companies - the oil companies are STILL making record profits while we (yes, it is we now!) are paying ever-increasing record-high prices. There is something wrong there …

anyway. I’ll stop with this political crap and post some more interesting stuff like what’s going on with the farm and how much I like my new motorbike!
